that’s a wrap - I graduated! 🎬

Well, that’s a wrap everybody!

This journey has had many starting points: the moment I started considering graduate school, the moment I decided on a Library Science program, the moment I discovered City, University of London, the moment I applied, the moment I got accepted, the moment I got my visa, the moment I arrived in London, the moment I started classes, the moment… you get it. This journey has been a series of beginnings, of firsts, of newness. And now, I’m at a new beginning of a whole new chapter, but before a beginning, there is often an end. So here we are, at the end.

Although most ‘ends’ can be sad or even bittersweet, I’ve reached this ‘end’ feeling so full of gratitude and joy for everything that this #reneeistolondon has brought me.

When I left London last August, I didn’t feel like I got a lot of closure because I was still finishing my dissertation and I didn’t get to say bye to folks the way I wanted. However, I’m really glad I was able to make it back to London for nearly 2 weeks to celebrate my graduation and have my last hurrah!

The graduation was lovely and I was so glad I got to celebrate the day/accomplishment with my mom, my classmates, friends in London, and loved ones tuned in online from back in the US (major thank you to all that tuned in at 5am or earlier and all those who wanted to tune in!)! It’s amazing how much time and effort gets put into planning and preparing for the day and then the actual moment you hear your name and cross the stage is literally less than 10 seconds (lols)! But it’s a great moment. Once I got my diploma at the end of the stage, sat back at my seat, and looked at it (and the star next to my name in the program book indicating ‘distinction’!), it made it all real.

Here’s a clip of my program cohort crossing the stage at graduation - look out for me!

What a beautiful time!

Once again, I am so incredibly grateful for this journey and all the support I’ve received from all of you that make up my support village. This was a dream realized and will forever be one of the best things I’ve ever done.

Thank you for following the #reneeistolondon journey! I’m really looking forward to settling into this next new chapter and rebuilding a foundation for myself. Cheers to this next chapter being filled with joy, abundance, prosperity, and freedom! 🥂

As always, feel free to say hey anytime. I’d always love to hear from you. 🤗

Til next time,

Renée ♥️
