Project Overview: Originally hired for daily management of the festival’s social media pages due to under utilization (2016-2018). In the following years, I was tasked with re-building the festival’s digital presence and voice, graphics, film promotional content, and in-person outreach to increase followers and usage of the central hashtag: #RoxFilm; As of the 2019 festival cycle, transitioned into training and supporting a new Social Media Manager to take over and refocused on updating and redirecting our audience to a new website (which moved from Wix to Squarespace). As of 2020, my focus is on managing the website for regular updates and new additions such as resource pages for filmmakers - while supporting and consulting the Social Media Manager in their work.

  • Social Media (2016-2018):

    • Rebuilt festival online presence with new handles and hashtags for consistency and ease across all platforms

    • 450% follower increase on Instagram, our primary platform

    • Conducted live-tweeting through Twitter and live-posting and streaming through Instagram’s story platform

    • Created twitter lists for filmmakers and filmgoers to better find Roxfilm alums and film-related news and resources

    • Navigated our social media response and engagement after a racist incident occurred at our main screening venue

    • Developed the Roxfilm voice, content style, and graphics to establish a more unified, consistent, and relatable online presence

    • Created and organized a database to track the festival’s film information, filmmakers who would be attending, and to draft and schedule content for each film’s promotion along with links to visuals of the films edited and prepped for optimal social media engagement.

  • Additionally, developed online surveys for audience favorite ballot and festival feedback. Analyzed and presented data to the Festival team with recommendations for upcoming years.
