Project Overview: The mission of the Harriet E. Richards Cooperative House is to provide alternative, on-campus housing to undergraduate women, cisgender and transgender women alike, as well as nonbinary individuals, who are dependent on financial-aid at Boston University. I’ve served on the HERAA Board as the Communications Committee Chair over several years with the focus being on supporting website management and using our Facebook page to share updates and engage alumnae. In addition, support review and promotion of HERAA’s external messaging including newsletters and postcards.

Highlights:

  • Lead the transition of our annual event to the online space and the process for virtual Board elections

  • Created a Facebook group for the larger community (current students and alumni) to connect with each other and share opportunities

  • Co-contributed to the development and disbursal of our Black Lives Matter statement in support of Black students and alumni

  • Implemented a social media push to fundraise for a COVID-19 Relief Fund for current students; surpassed goal at 125% raised

  • Integrated a “Donate” button into the website
